A New Day
With all the excitement of a new book on the way I feel like an expecting parent. I find myself surrounded by change on all fronts---exciting times, a little daunting too. I'm supposed to be on vacation, so I slept in this morning. Then I reinvented my bio, the one I imagine using in my role as an amateur author. It's kind of weird writing about yourself like you are somebody else. Here's a draft. Feedback welcome at dave@itsoag.com.
Draft Bio:
David Fitz-Gerald is an author. Okay, make that amateur author. If you’re looking for the atheist activist author by the same name, keep looking. This book is DEFINITELY not for you!
Dave enjoys writing books as his favorite hobby. After a chaotic day as a business person, he enjoys getting lost in the settings he imagines and spending time with the characters he creates. Telling stories about history is like taking pictures of the past. Writing historical fiction is like making paintings of the past. Dave loves to weave fact and fiction together, stirring in action, adventure, romance and a heavy dose of the supernatural with the hopes of transporting the reader to another time and place.
He is also an Adirondack 46-er, which means he has hiked all the highest peaks in New York State, so it should not be surprising when Dave attempts to glorify hikers as swashbuckling superheroes in his writing. Dave dreams of creating a long series of books featuring descendants of the hero of the first book in the Adirondack Spirit Series: Wanders Far—An Unlikely Hero’s Journey. https://authordavidfitzgerald.com
If you follow the link to my website you will see it looks awful. I am in the process of reconstructing it on the fly. Another cataclysmic change---how's that for an overly dramatic statement...
All the best,
Dave
